PhD Thesis using BRAMS studied the chemical composition of the atmosphere in the Amazon basin using numerical modeling and direct observations
The PhD student of the National Institute for Space Research, Fernando Santos, from São Paulo city, presented his PhD thesis in May 31st 2017 entitled Biomass burning and natural emissions in the Brazilian Amazon rainforest: impact on the oxidative capacity of the atmosphere.
The purpose of the study was identify the chemical mechanisms that control the atmospheric oxidative capacity in the Amazon Forest, seeking for the better numerical representation of such processes using the knowledge from direct observations. The final document will be available soon.
