Master dissertation using BRAMS focused on the urban area of São Paulo
The master student of the National Institute for Space Research, Alice Henkes, from Não -Me-Toque, a small city in Rio Grande do Sul, presented her dissertation in May 5th entitled Sensitivity study of urban surface schemes in the model BRAMS to simulate the heat island over the Metropolitan Area of São Paulo (in Portuguese “Estudo de sensibilidade da parametrização urbana do modelo BRAMS na simulação da Ilha de Calor na Região Metropolitana de São Paulo – MASP”).
The purpose of the study was to evaluate the surface properties at MASP focusing in a better representation of the 2-meter temperature and also heat island intensity in the region. The final dissertation will be available soon.
